This is a ‘Living wall” that incorporates plants within the aluminum-clad facade. The proposal has fun with the idea of decorating a factory wall and takes the concept beyond the 2-dimensional plane.
The smokestack graphic is a somewhat ‘tongue-in-cheek” symbolism that makes us look twice, and ‘grounds’ the instillation within the roots of its context.
Puncturing the wall facade at random locations with bursts of greenery offers an added element of surprise and contrast.
A drip watering system and drainage concealed behind the facade keep the gardens healthy, lush and virtually maintenance-free.  Lighting illuminates the greenery at night for further effect.
